John Hightower Gardner 
John Hightower was born on September 6th, 1849 in Pike County, Georgia.1 John Hightower's father was Robert Beall I Gardner. His paternal grandparents were John Gardner and Emeline "Emily" Beall. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Obadiah Benjamin "Obie", James Wood, Judge Brantley, Robert Beall II, Sterling Pryor, William Flournoy, Charlotte Emily Eugenia and Mary Lou. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died in Booneville, Prentiss County, Mississippi.1 -
