Violet May was born on April 5th, 1910 in ,St. Louis, Missouri.1 Violet May's father was Alvin Frederick Engelke and her mother was Isabelle (Belle) Price. Her maternal grandparents were Lafayette T. (Fate) Price and Martha Jane Basham. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Woodford Otto (Sonny), Alvin Frederick, Jr., Lenora Mary and Living. She died at the age of 81 in January 1992 in ,Arcadia, California. She was buried in Forest Lawn Cem., California.1 1 General Notes
