Alvin Frederick, Jr. was born on February 13th, 1924 in ,St. Louis, Missouri.1 Alvin Frederick, Jr.'s father was Alvin Frederick Engelke and his mother was Isabelle (Belle) Price. His maternal grandparents were Lafayette T. (Fate) Price and Martha Jane Basham. He had a brother and three sisters, named Woodford Otto (Sonny), Violet May, Lenora Mary and Living.
