According to research by Russ Bralley, 1989: Records from the Minute Bo
ok of Hawkins County, Tennessee describes a deed of conveyance from Jose
ph Rogers and Joseph Gallion was proven in open court
by the oaths of Daniel Waddle and Francis Desarn and was ordered to be r
egistered, Thursday, 8 April 1812. The Joseph Gallion mentioned may be re
lated to Francis "Frankie's" wife, Elizabeth
Gallion.
Said to have resided in KY, TN, NC, and IN. According to Kelly Morgan's bo
ok (Pioneer Families, Clay County, Kentucky, 1769 - 1969 First Edition), p
age 294: Frankie Dezarn came to Clay County,
Kentucky in the early 1800's. Here he found several thousand unclaimed ac
res of land in the Beech Creek area to which he laid claim. He staked o
ut his domain as follows: Beginning at the mouth of
Beech Creek, taking in most of the Main Creek and all of Little Beech Cre
ek and down Goose Creek to include half of the Sutton Branch and back up G

Francis "Frankie" is also listed as a widower farmer, age 100, in the 18
80 Census for Clay County, living in the household of A. B. Samples. His r
ecorded age of 100 is probably incorrect by 10 years
since he thought to born in 1789.
A study of tax records shows that Francis Desearn paid taxes in Clay Count
y, Kentucky in 1830 and 1833. The records for 1832 were lost. Francis d
id not pay taxes in Clay County in 1831. Thus, the
family may have moved away from Clay County in 1831.
