Velma Dean

Velma was born in 1915.¹ Velma's father was James O. Dean and her mother was Sarah Frances Tutor. Her paternal grandparents are John Dean and Mary Johnson; her maternal grandparents were Jessie Harris Tutor and Sarah Elizabeth Sexton. She had three brothers and five sisters, named James Irvin, Willie Leonard, David Buren, Lura F., Hattie C., Iola L., Lillie and Hurlie Bessie. She is the second youngest of the nine children.
