Hazel Sylvia was born in 1917 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Hazel Sylvia's father was George William DeSpain and her mother is Minnie Lee Druin. Her paternal grandfather was Lindsey Hezekiah DeSpain and her paternal grandmother is Martha A. Marr. She had three brothers named Thomas Boyd, Russell M. and William Shively. She was the second oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 82 on March 21st, 1999.1 General Notes
