Ezekiel Monroe was born on May 14th, 1896 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Ezekiel Monroe's father was Joseph Thomas DeSpain and his mother was Sarah Frances Warren. His paternal grandfather was Joseph DeSpain and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Morrison; his maternal grandparents were William B. Warren and Elizabeth Salsman. He had two brothers and six sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Richard Marshall, Andrew Perry, Sarah Elizabeth, Josie G., Rosella, Jody, Lillian Florida, Beatrice and Unknown. He died at the age of 78 in 1974 in Hodgenville, LaRue Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Despain-Thompson Cemetery, Green Co., Kentukcy.1 1 General Notes
