Oliver Ammond was born on February 11th, 1901 in Uvalde, Texas.1 Oliver Ammond's father was William Thomas Cromeans and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Taylor. His maternal grandparents were Amos Gayle,Rev. Taylor and Martha Matilida Graham. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Abner, Theodore Ernest, Neville, Nancy Lucinda, Maude Elizabeth, Rosetta B. and Beaulau Mae.
