James S. Cannon 
James S. was born on August 28th, 1890 in Brayton, Audbon Co., Iowa.1 James S.'s father was John Willis Cannon and his mother was Hannah Mary Simpson. His paternal grandparents were George Washington Cannon and Harriet Blancet Jenkins; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Simpson and Mary Unknown. He had two brothers and three sisters, named George Willis, Gerald T., Dolly E., Lucille and Hida A.. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 83 in April 1974 in Iowa.1 General Notes
