Joseph F. was born in August 1831 in Hamilton Co., Illinois.1 Joseph F.'s father was John, Jr. Campbell and his mother was Martha Ann Wheeler. His paternal grandparents were John Campbell and Eleanor Denton; his maternal grandfather is Unknown Wheeler. He had eight brothers and six sisters, named William Humes, Alfred W., James Madison, John D., Columbus C., Yanez L., Alonzo, Johnson Hill, Sarah E., Lucy A., Mary E., Isavilla, Emma and Jerusha C.. He was the second oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 74 on May 27th, 1906.1 General Notes
