Samuel was born about 1740 in North Carolina.1 Samuel's father was William, Jr. Braswell and his mother was Margaret Unknown. His paternal grandparents were William Braswell and Mary Wilson. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Jacob, Arthur, Patience, Patty and Dorcas. He died about 1794 in Nash Co., North Carolina.1 General Notes
