Jessie John Rankin Brashears 
Jessie John Rankin was born on June 5th, 1841 in Lawrence Co., Missouri.1 Jessie John Rankin's father was Walter E. (Watt) Brashears and his mother was Elizabeth Elenor Basham. His paternal grandparents were Robert Brashear and Sarah Rhea Hankins; his maternal grandparents were James Monroe Bassham and Arta M. Holloway. He had six brothers and nine sisters, named Diocleshion W., Robert Washington, William Walter, James Basham, Isaac Jackson, Reuben Dobbin, Elizabeth Elendor, Artisa Miney, Sarah Jane 'Sally', Martha Ann, Matida Lucinda, Catherine Adeline, Mary Angeline "Polly", Caroline Malissa and Malinda K.. He was the seventh oldest of the sixteen children. He died at the age of 75 on June 25th, 1916 in Missouri.1 General Notes
