Gola Basham 
Gola was born on December 12th, 1893 in Guston, Meade Co., Kentucky.1 Gola's father was Barry Franklin Basham and her mother was Susan D. (Sue) Dowell. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Thomas Basham and Melissa Squires; her maternal grandparents are Robert Hall Dowell and Elizabeth R. McCoy. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Samuel B., John, William S. (Willie), Zilpha Irene, Eva L, Carrie D., Bessie and Mary F.. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 82 on August 5th, 1976 in Hodgenville, Kentucky.1 General Notes
