John Calhoun Allen 
John Calhoun was born on December 18th, 1849 in Louisiana.1 John Calhoun's father was John Birchfield Allen and his mother was Susan Ann Shaver. His paternal grandparents were John Calhoun Allen and Mary Ann Holcombe. He had a brother and six sisters, named Willican Cornish, Mary Ann Elizabeth, Sarah Jane, Martha Caroline, Cassandra Ann Cassie, Susan Lucinda Adaline and Fannie Idella. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 83 on November 18th, 1933 in Lufkin, Angelina Co.. He was buried in Lufkin, Angelina Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes
