Mary was born about 1888 in Logan Co., West Virginia.1 Mary's father is Robert E. Scott Lowe and her mother is Caroline Hill. Her paternal grandparents are Elisha Lowe and Elizabeth Doss. She had two brothers and five sisters, named James, Grover, Hattie, Lula, Ethel, Emily and Pearl. She is the third youngest of the eight children.-
