George was born in 1823.1   George's father was James Locke and his mother is Sarah Austin.  His paternal grandparents were John Locke and Esther French. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, James William, Nancy Offutt, Eliza, Harriett and Juliett Ann.
