Joseph Lovel was born on April 1st, 1808 in St Francis Parish, Louisiana.1 Joseph Lovel's father was Joseph LeDoux and his mother was Heloise Dufour. His paternal grandparents were Jean Pierre LeDoux and Marguerite Baron; his maternal grandparents were Charles DuFour and Adrienne Deshotels. He had a brother and three sisters, named Valery, Melazie, Nodai and Heloise. He was the oldest of the five children. He died about 1880.1 -
