William was born on April 23rd, 1629 in Berkshire, Cumnor Co, England.1   William's father was SAMUEL Ironmonger and his mother was BRIDGET Cordray.  His paternal grandparents were SAMUEL Ironmonger and ANNA Lawson; his maternal grandfather was WILLIAM Cordray and his maternal grandmother is BRIDGETT Goddard. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Francis, Cordray, CATHERINE Anne, Bridgett, Anne, Elizabeth, Martha, Eleanor, Margaret and Jane.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 66 on August 30th, 1695 in Westmoreland Co, VA.1
