William Clay

William was born about 1588 in England.¹ William's father was JOHN Clay and his mother was MARY Anne Carlton. His paternal grandfather was JOHN Clay; his maternal grandfather is WILLIAM CARLTON. He had four brothers named Richard, JOHN Thomas, Charles and Henry. He is the third oldest of the five children.
