Richard Clay

Richard was born about 1585 in England.¹ Richard's father was JOHN Clay and his mother was MARY Anne Carlton. His paternal grandfather was JOHN Clay; his maternal grandfather is WILLIAM CARLTON. He had four brothers named JOHN Thomas, William, Charles and Henry. He is the oldest of the five children.
