ASA ATKINS 
ASA was born about 1760 in possibly North Carolina.1 He died before May 5th, 1804 in Wilkes County, Georgia.1 General Notes

"20th February 1792. George Lea of Washington Co. to Asa Atkins of Wilkes Co.. George Lea and Lucy Lea, his wife, for the sum of one hundred and twenty five pounds, sterling for a tract of land on Buck Creek containing five hundred and fifty acres, being originally granted to Sanders Walker the 3rd March 1785. Wit: Joel M. Clinton, John Miles and William C. Williams."

Receipt of F. Billingslea, gdn of John Billingslea for cash, part of John's leg. Sep. 10, 1799.
Receipt of John Billingslea to Arnold Atkins, admr for store account, corn, feather bed, notes of hand etc as part of his legacy. Feb. 23, 1799. Inv. Mar. 16, 1799 lists one authorized certificate bearing date of Jan. 19, 1799, No. 360 for service done by Wm. Shuffle (Sheffield?) in the State Troops 1st. Regt. 4th Co., commanded by Capt. Robert Raines. "Bounty Warrant" interlined, and authorized certificate substituted. Receipt of Jesse Mercer for tuition for Asa Atkins for 1800.
Receipt of John Hendrick, gdn to Arnold Atkins, admr for a bounty warrant of the State Troops for 64 acres land for the heirs. Jan. 23, 1803. Receipt of John Leverett to John Hendrick excr, of est of Widow Atkins, dec'd, her subscription for building a meeting house at Phillips Mill. Feb. 19, 1803. John Lee, J. P.
Receipt of Jeremiah Atkins in full of his distributive share of his fathers est to his gdn Jere. Miles who succeeded John Billingslea, dec'd as gdn.
Signed Feb. 20, 1811 in Morgan Co. E. Greenlee's acct for medical attendance on Mrs. Atkins in Hancock Co. 1801, and upon her return to Wilkes.

ASA and FRANCES were married in a religious ceremony about 1779.1 They had six sons and four daughters, named Arnold, Asa, Ransom, George Lea, Jeremiah, Willis, Lucy J., Nancy, Eunice "Unicy" and LOVICE.

George Lea was born in 1788.1 He died at the age of 26 in November 1814 in Morgan County, Georgia.1
LOVICE Atkins
LOVICE was born on June 4th, 1796 in Morgan County, Georgia.1 She died at the age of 69 on February 6th, 1866 in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas. She was buried in 1863 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Rusk County, Texas.1 1
