                          Frances SPENCER, 86, housewife

      Frances M SPENCER, 85, of Jenkins Memorial Nursing Facility of Wellston, a former Portsmouth and Seton Square, Wellston resident, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at the nursing facility.
      Born April 12, 1910, in Portsmouth, a daughter o f the late Henry and Louise SCHWAMBERGER SCHILLINGER, she was a housewife, a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Wellston, and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth, Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbus and Portsmouth Monastery Association.
      Preceded in death by her husband, Fred K. SPENCER, in 1972, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Russ (Jane) COX of Wellston;  a brother, Edgar SCHILLINGER of Portsmouth;  and four grandchildren.
      She also was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
      Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston, with the Rev. Stephen Krile officiating, and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth.
      Friends may call at Rogers-McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with recitation of rosary at 8 p.m. Monday.
