Her paternal grandparents were Jonathan YOUNG and Sarah TOOMER; her maternal grandparents were William MCDONALD and Sariah Jane SHIRTS. She had two brothers and ten sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named John David, Alma, Fannie Jane, Annie Sarah, Aliza Ros Zina, Eliza Roxina, Ella, Edna, Ella, Myrtle, Lovina, Vina and <Unknown>.
