Margaret was born about 1545 in Kirkby, Lonsdale, Westmoreland, England.  Margaret's father was James WHITTINGTON and her mother is Mrs-James WHITTINGTON.  Her paternal grandfather is Reynold WHITTINGTON. She had four brothers named Francis, Richard, Thomas and John.  She is the oldest of the five children.
