Jean II was born on April 26th, 1319 in Chcateau De Gube-De-Maulny, , France and his baptism took place on April 29th, 1319 in St. Julien, Le Mans, France.  Jean II's father was Philippe VI Valois and his mother was Jeanne De BOURGOGNE.  His paternal grandparents were Charles I Valois and Marguerite Princess Of SICILY & NAPLES; his maternal grandparents were Robert II De BOURGOGNE and Agnaes Princess Of FRANCE. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Philippe De, Louis, Louis, Jean, Philippe De, Isabelle De, Jeanne De and Marie Princess De.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 44 on April 8th, 1364 in , London, , England.  He was buried on May 8th, 1364 in St Denis, , , France.

‌Jean II and Jutte (Bonne) Princess Of were married in a religious ceremony on March 28th, 1332.  They had four sons and seven daughters, named Charles V, Louis I, Jean I, Philippe II, Blanche, Catherine, Jeanne, Marie, Agnaes, Marquerite and Isabel.
