John B. was born about 1788 in Fairfield County, South Carolina. John B.'s father was Edmond TIDWELL and his mother was Anna (Or Ann) HOLLIS. His paternal grandfather was Richard J. TIDWELL and his paternal grandmother is Rachael HELMS; his maternal grandparents were Moses Senior HOLLIS and Rosannah (or Hagan) Berry. He had eleven brothers and five sisters, named UNKNOWN, Isaiah, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, Richard, Edmond, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, Aquilla, Silas, Benjamin, Rebecca?, Jane, UNKNOWN, Kisiah and Elizabeth. He was the eighth oldest of the seventeen children. He died on May 14th, 1869.General Notes
