Marritie was born on August 31st, 1686 in Amersfoort, (flatlands), Kings, N.y. and her baptism took place on October 11th, 1686 in Dutchrefch, Flatbush, Kings, Longisland, Ny. Marritie's father was Albert Albertse TERHUNEN and her mother was Hendrickje Stevense VAN VOORHEES. Her paternal grandparents were Albert Albertsen TERHUNE and Geertje DENYCE; her maternal grandfather was Steven Coerte VAN VOORHEES and her maternal grandmother is Steven (Van Voorhees) UNKNOWN. She had two brothers and nine sisters, named Jan, Steven Albertse, Annette, Antje, Garabrecht, Gerebrecht, Gerebtecht, Willemtje, Willemtie, Rachel and Antje.
