Bertha Gladys was born on October 6th, 1902 in Leon, Mason, West Virginia. Bertha Gladys' father is Jarriet Hill Stover and her mother was Cora Belle Cook. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Pleasant Stover and Eliza Jane Hill; her maternal grandparents are UNKNOWN Cook and Mary UNKNOWN. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Samuel Lawrence, Nathaniel, George Rankin, Jarrett Delbert, Nancy Belle, Catherine Josephine, Myrta Blanche, Mary Ethel and Elva Mae. She was the second youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 41 on October 19th, 1943 in Charleston, Kanawha, WV. She was buried in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, WV.-
