Tabitha Jane was born on February 4th, 1882 in 4th Civil District, Coffee, Tn. Tabitha Jane's father was Bartley Martin SHELTON and her mother was Elizabeth Ann (Betty) CAWTHORN. Her paternal grandparents were Jessee SHELTON and Nancy MONTGOMERY; her maternal grandparents are Jessee CAWTHORNE and Tabitha COTHERON. She had two brothers and three sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Jessee Gackson, Charles Edward, Mattie, Nancy "Nannie", Sarah "Sallie", UNKNOWN and W. B.. She was the second youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 82 on December 23rd, 1964 in , Manchester Co, Tennessee.General Notes
