Nancy D. was born in 1855 in , , Tennessee. Nancy D.'s father was John D. Rigsby and her mother was Mary Ann Tippeth. Her paternal grandparents were John Rigsby and Kiziah Lewis. She had a brother and five sisters, named James A., Malinda, Harriet C., Melissa, Isabella and Rosie. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died before 1955.-
