Hiram Abiff was born on March 25th, 1805 in Adams, Jffrsn, Ny. Hiram Abiff's father was Squire READ and his mother was Submit PRESTON. His paternal grandparents are Samuel REED and Sibel BOWEN; his maternal grandfather was Wilson PRESTON and his maternal grandmother is Susannah ALDRICH. He had three brothers and five sisters, named George Washington, Stephen D., Asa, Betsy (Twin), Olive (Twin), Olive, Laura and Cynthia. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 71 on April 22nd, 1876.General Notes
