Betsey was born on March 16th, 1800 in , , Tennessee. Betsey's father was Morris MITCHELL and her mother was Elizabeth HOOSONG. Her maternal grandfather was Jacob HOOSANG and her maternal grandmother is Elizabeth UNKNOWN. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named John, Jacob, James, Abraham, Jessie, Stephen, Elijah, Wesley, Rebecca, Mary, Rhoda and Louise. She was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 65 on November 16th, 1865 in Springfield, Greene Co., Mo.General Notes
