Stephen Oliver was born on May 28th, 1810 in , Frnkln, Pa. Stephen Oliver's father was James MC CURDY and his mother was Mary BROWN. His paternal grandparents are James MC CURDY and Mrs Ann MCCURDY; his maternal grandparents were Allen BROWN and Margaret OLIVER. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Isaiah, John, Joseph Brown, Major James, Rhoda, Anna, Margaret and Jane. He was the youngest of the nine children.
