Joel Walker was born about 1826.  Joel Walker's father is Creed T. Jenkins and his mother is Nancy Pryor Wright.  His paternal grandfather was Obadiah Jenkins and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Young. He has three brothers and three sisters, named William, Robert Alex, Mecklenburg, Sarah F., Jane A. and Lucinda. He has four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Christopher, James T., John, Infant and Jinney A..
