Thomas Jefferson 
Thomas was born in 1653 in Gynnedd, Wales. Thomas' father was Samuel Jefferson and his mother is Sarah UNKNOWN. His paternal grandfather was Samuel Jeaffreson and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Carr. He was an only child. He died at the age of 44 in October 1697 in Henrico Co., VA.General Notes

Note: Thomas Jefferson, I is considered the emigrant ancestor, the first Jefferson settler who remained in VA. He was a planter and a surveyor. In 1682 he purchased 157A in Henrico Co from William Byrd, and in 1692 he purchased a town lot. In 1697 he lived at the Curls region of the James River, below present Richmond. His will has been lost.
Family oral history has Thomas Jefferson I coming from Wales.
