Henry was born on August 26th, 1789 in Bethel, Pitt County, North Carolina. Henry's father was John JOLLEY and his mother is Louisa BRYAN. He had six brothers and a sister, named Frederick, Frederick, Jessie, Hancel Bryan, Hancil Bryan, John and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the eight children.
