James JOHNSTON 
James was born in 1736 in , Spotsylvania Co., Virginia. James' father was William JOHNSTON and his mother was Ann (Nan) Mary CHEW. His paternal grandparents were Edward JOHNSTON and Elizabeth Walker; his maternal grandparents were Burgess Larkin CHEW and Hannah ROY. He had five brothers named Arwalker, Silus, William, Ezekiel and John. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 84 in 1820.General Notes
