Richard Anderson was born on February 10th, 1825 in Shelbyville, Bedford, Tennessee, USA.  Richard Anderson's father was James Russell Ivie and his mother was Eliza Mckee FAUSETT.  His paternal grandparents were Anderson Ivie and Sarah ALLRED; his maternal grandparents were Richard FAUSETT and Mary McKEE. He had nine brothers and five sisters, named William Franklin, James Alexander, John Lehi, Polly Ann, Joseph Orson, Issac Thomas, Benjamin Martin, Hyrum Lewis, Heber Kimball, Sarah Ann, Elizabeth Caroline, Eliza Marie, Mari Betsy and Martha Adeline.  He was the oldest of the fifteen children. He had a half-sister named Mari Betsy.  He died at the age of 67 on November 22nd, 1892 in , Camas, Idaho.  He was buried on November 24th, 1892 in , Camas, Idaho.
