Levi was born on August 5th, 1879. Levi's father was Martin C. Hoover and his mother was Susan Elizabeth Acker. His paternal grandparents were John Puderbaugh Hoover and Christina Brumbaugh Hoover. He had seven sisters named Amanda A., Margaret, Ida May, Lavada, Jane, Harriet and Susanna. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 1 on May 21st, 1881.
