Arthur was born on April 7th, 1771 in , Barbour, Virginia. Arthur's father was Sotha HICKMAN and his mother was Elizabeth DAVI(E)S. His paternal grandparents were Arthur HICKMAN and Mary UNKNOWN. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Sotha Jr, Elias, Zachariah, Thomas, Comfort, Nancy, Lucretia, Cynthia, Elizabeth and Rebecca. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 84 on March 20th, 1856 in , Barbour, Virginia. He was buried in 1856 in Philippi, Barbour, Virginia.General Notes
