Isreal was born on April 24th, 1800 in , Mecklenburg, N.c.. Isreal's father was George Jr. HELMS and his mother was Sarah PRESLEY. His paternal grandfather was George Sr. HELMS and his paternal grandmother is Mary Margaret FALKENBOROUGH; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Pressler PRESLEY and Sarah CULPEPPER. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Son, Isaac Haney, Pamly Uriah, Charles, Clorinda and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 73 on July 17th, 1873 in , Union, N.c..General Notes
