Christian was born about 1443 in Scotland. Christian's father was Alexander Seton Gordon and her mother was Elizabeth CRICHTON. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander SETON and Elizabeth Gordon; her maternal grandfather was William Crichton. She had four brothers and four sisters, named George, Alexander, William, Adam, Elizabeth, Catherine (Janet), Janet and Margaret. She is the third oldest of the nine children.-
