Jabez was born on June 24th, 1731 in East Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut. Jabez's father was Ephraim GRISWOULD and his mother is Mehitable RILEY. His paternal grandparents were Jacob GRISSWOLD and Mary WRIGHT; his maternal grandfather was Jonathan RILEY RYLY and his maternal grandmother is Sarah DEMING. He had two brothers, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Ephriam, Sarah and Azariah. He was the second youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 40 on September 3rd, 1771 in Sharon, Litchfield, Connecticut.General Notes
