James GILLESPIE 
James was born about 1751 in Augusta (now Alleghany), VA. James' father was William GILLESPIE and his mother was Mary Clendenin. His paternal grandfather was James GILLESPIE; his maternal grandparents were ARCHIBALD CLENDENIN and Esther Ann Mayes. He had five brothers and three sisters, named ROBERT G., Simon, John, Thomas, WILLIAM, MARY, Nancy Agnes and ELIZABETH. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died on August 18th, 1834.-
