His paternal grandfather was Robert ELPHINSTON and his paternal grandmother is Margaret DRUMMOND; his maternal grandfather was William LIVINGSTONE and his maternal grandmother is Agnes FLEMING. He had a brother and five sisters, named James, Jean, Agnes, Jean, Christian and Helen. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 70 on August 27th, 1648 in Spms.General Notes
