Christine was born about 1533 in Glenbervie, Kincardine, Scotland. Christine's father was Archibald Douglas and her mother was Agnes 'Anne' Keith. Her paternal grandfather was William Douglas and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Auchinleck; her maternal grandparents were William KEITH and Elizabeth GORDON. She had a brother and eight sisters, named William, Elizabeth, Margaret, Marjory, Joan, Isabel, Alice, Agnes and Marion. She is the fifth oldest of the ten children.-
