Gilbert De Clare 
Gilbert was born in 1180 in Hertford, England.1 Gilbert's father was Richard De Clare and his mother is Amicia Fitzwilliam. His paternal grandfather was Roger De Clare and his paternal grandmother is Maud De Harcourt De St. Hilaire. He had a sister named Maud. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 50 on October 25th, 1230 in Penros, Brittany, France.1 General Notes
