Josiah was born about 1701. Josiah's father was Thomas DAY and his mother was Sarah COOPER. His paternal grandparents were Robert DAY and Editha STEBBING (STEBBINS); his maternal grandparents were Thomas COOPER and Sarah SLYE. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Jr, John, Samuel, John Joseph, Major John, Ebenezer, Ebenezer, Jonathon, Sarah, Mary and Abigail.
