John Joseph was born on April 4th, 1672 in Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts and his baptism took place in Gloucester, Essex, Ma. John Joseph's father was Thomas DAY and his mother was Sarah COOPER. His paternal grandparents were Robert DAY and Editha STEBBING (STEBBINS); his maternal grandparents were Thomas COOPER and Sarah SLYE. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Thomas Jr, John, Samuel, Major John, Ebenezer, Ebenezer, Jonathon, Josiah, Sarah, Mary and Abigail. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.
