Joseph DAWSON 
Joseph was born in 1745 in Wilmington, New Hanover Co., Nc. Joseph's father was Jonathan DAWSON and his mother was Frances ROUSE. He had two brothers named William and Jonathan. He is the oldest of the three children.General Notes

Note: Joseph Dawson was a Captain in the Revolutionary War and served under General Green in his South Carolina Campaign. he was at the attack on "Ninety-Six" and at the Battle of "Cowpens" where he was wounded. He was a gallant soldier, entering at the beginning of the war and fighting until peace was declared.
They had six sons and three daughters, named William, Patrick Gibson, James, Ezekiel, Samuel, Joseph, Frances, Mary and Elizabeth.

Patrick Gibson was born in 1774 in Edgefield Dist., Sc. He died at the age of 91 in 1865 in Putnam Co., Ga.
